A LITTLE ABOUT James
Meet Ridgy Didge James – Intuitive, Loyal, and Destined for Greatness
We’re so proud to introduce Ridgy Didge James, an exceptional F1 Medium Australian Cobberdog who brings fresh new bloodlines into our Ridgy Didge breeding program. His COI is 0.16% This means his level of inbreeding is extremely low, making him genetically healthy.
James is a large medium-sized Cobberdog being 19 inches or 48cms at the wither. He has a striking blonde coat with rose pigment (nose colour), in low-density straight fleece — soft, silky, and easy to maintain. But as beautiful as he is on the outside, it’s James’s nature that truly sets him apart.
This boy has a deeply mellow, intuitive temperament, making him a joy to be around. Calm, confident, and people-focused, James is the kind of dog who makes everyone feel at ease. He is loyal, gentle, and effortlessly sociable — the type of Cobberdog we believe makes an ideal support or therapy companion. He is himself a government certified support dog. James especially loves children and is completely unbothered by other dogs. He has a consistently low prey drive, not even chasing the numerous native turkeys that roam our surrounds here on the Sunshine Coast.
A Natural Gift for Support Work
James displayed incredible instinct early on. At just 16 weeks old, he alerted his guardian to a burglary in progress — stopping, pointing, and giving a low growl without a single moment of training. His intuitive nature continued to shine, and by 12 months of age, James became a government-certified support dog for his guardian.
In hospital environments, he is calm, comforting, and adored by staff and patients alike, spreading cheer wherever he goes. His ability to read emotions and respond gently is extraordinary.
James’s sire is Raffa, known for producing puppies with strong potential for therapy temperaments — and James is clearly following in those footsteps.
